PAAA Logo
As a Certified, Independent Appraiser w/ over 27 years' experience, I will prepare a portfolio of your vehicle containing a detailed, written description, analysis and professional photographs from an In-Person inspection* in the Philadelphia, PA region. My 8-12 page document (example below) is invaluable for full "Agreed Value" insurance coverage and the appraisals can be performed at any location throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. A Professional appraisal is one of the most affordable and safe methods of protecting your investment and remember - insurance companies recommend that appraisals be updated every three years to reflect your vehicle's present value.

Appraising Classic, Antique and Collectible vehicles is a very specialized field encompassing an extensive knowledge of the vast array of disciplines that go into the production and functioning of a vehicle; of course a sound grasp of the volatile market and its trends is a prerequisite. A vehicle appraisal can take several hours personally inspecting & photographing the myriad of systems followed by research into market values, trends and its projected appreciation.

*Except under very unique circumstances, for absolute objectivity, thoroughness & unbiased reporting, an Appraisal must be performed by a thorough In-Person inspection as I do, NOT solely by your submission of a few pics & a brief, self-written description. (see CNN article below)

Expert in Total Loss/Diminished Value Claims w/ a 100% success rate in winning higher settlements.

Classic Gray is a member in good standing of the PAAA & acts in strict accordance with the USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) as promulgated by the APPRAISAL STANDARDS BOARD of THE APPRAISAL FOUNDATION. Therefore, my appraisals and services as an Expert Witness providing Testimony, Depositions & Insurance Claim Negotiator will meet & exceed the standards set forth by insurance companies, charities, legal proceedings, e.g. estate, probate, divorce, SSA and IRS filings or disputes adhering to the guidelines of IRS Publication 561 - "Determining the Value of  Donated Property". Moreover, my appraiser’s fee structures are based on a single fixed sum - never on a percentage of the item’s value.

Excerpt from a recent article:  "Skip Internet appraisals. Many of us are so used to doing research on the Internet, so it may be tempting to obtain a free [or inexpensive] online quote to find out how much Dad's Popeye watch is really worth. But appraisers agree that the Internet is generally not a good place to obtain accurate valuations. A good appraiser will need to see and handle a piece to determine its true value. Online auctions don't provide a good gauge of value, either. eBay sale prices usually reflect gut reactions to merchandise rather than informed bids."

Please contact me for a quote. Filling in the appropriate fields in the Vehicle Description Form will be helpful in expediting the process.

Testimonials from some of my many satisfied clients:

Grayson,
"Thank you for all your hard work. I just read over your appraisal and I think it was very fair with your descriptions of the vehicle. I'm very happy with it. Thanks again"
Joe J ~ PA

Grayson,
“Excellent report - thanks so much for the solid work.  I feel I have gotten tremendous value for my money.
You've also given me a good lesson re pricing and flaws that the car may have - excellent points and I will take them to heart.  If I opt to go with a MK2 this one is the one to buy.  I'm in the process of making a similar eval for the S Type.  Are you sure you don't want to fly out to San Diego?
;-)
Thanks so much,"
Doug P ~ SC

"Thanks for doing this challenging appraisal.  Your knowledge and research skills are impressive. Your knowledge regarding relationships is the same. The appraisal details are correct and well presented. It would be nice to cross paths again.
UPDATE: "Just wanted to let you know the court went with your appraisal. Thank you for such a thorough testimony. Putting her back on the road in a few weeks!"
Thank you."
Jeff C ~ PA

Grayson,
"Thank you for your great customer service and all the info.
It's good to go with the bank and I'll be picking up the car on Saturday!
I'll be certain to recommend you and use your service in the future as this
won't be my last. I'll likely be looking for more older vehicles in
the next few years. Take care! "
Byung ~ PA

Hi Grayson,
"Thank you for the quick turn around on the appraisal, it’s greatly appreciated. Everything looks great.

Thanks again for everything,"
